VEGGIES 8/10/11

I should have taken more pictures over the summer but then I didn’t realize I would start this blog.  Will post some pictures that I took of the beds in May and June in a couple of days.  As of today I have harvested over 300 pounds of veggies from my small yard.  I weigh everything I harvest except for jalapeno and serrano peppers and herbs.  I have around 190 square feet of raised beds.   My friends say it’s  a mini truck farm.

COLANDER LIGHTS

BEEN SEARCHING FOR A NEW FIXTURE TO HANG OVER MY KITCHEN SINK FOREVER.  THEN I SAW THIS DIY ARTICLE ABOUT CREATING YOUR OWN USING HANGING PENDANT KITS FROM LOWES.  THEY MAKE DIFFERENT DRILL BITS DEPENDING ON WHAT TYPE OF MATERIAL YOU ARE DRILLING INTO SO BE SURE TO USE THE CORRECT ONE.   THE DIRECTIONS IN THE KITS ARE EASY TO FOLLOW.  I HIRED AN ELECTRICIAN AND HAD HIM CUT THE CORDS TO THE LENGTHS I WANTED AND THEN INSTALL THE LIGHTS.  I CHOOSE METAL COLANDERS BECAUSE I USE SO MANY OF THEM TO HOLD VEGGIES THAT I HARVEST FROM MY GARDEN.  I AM THRILLED WITH THEM.

Hi!

I am so excited to be starting this blog.  I have so much to learn and so much I want to share about all the people and things I love and enjoy.  I know trying to create this blog is going to give me a lot of frustration and I’m not even sure why I am doing it.  Maybe it’s to prove that I can still learn new things and to have my children and grandchildren  see me as more than just mom and grandma.
